Speedball Gel Printing Plate 8in x 10in

Speedball Gel Plates are intended for monoprinting with water soluble printmaking inks rather than acrylic paints. They have a unique formulation and are firmer than conventional gel plates, having a stronger surface tack. These design variances are purposeful so that artists can get remarkable detail in their printed image with less squish and slip of colour when using printmaking inks. Acrylic paints and encaustics do not work well on these plates and may dry on the plate, making removal difficult. To remove the printing inks, use soap and water. To reduce dust and lint accumulation and to safeguard the surface, keep the plates in their clamshell package. Stack the clean plates separately, not against each other, using the provided cover sheets. Ideally, they should be used with Akua Inks and Speedball Inks. The only acrylic paint range Speedball recommends is Golden Open Acrylics. This is because they have an extended drying time. 8in x 10in Depth of 0.25 in / 6.5 mm
