Blackwing Limited Edition Volume 93 – Box of 12 Pencils

The 12 pencils in the Blackwing Volume 93 Limited Edition Corita Kent pay homage to the social justice activist, educator, and artist Corita Kent, who felt that art could be a vehicle for thought, introspection, and change. At Immaculate Heart College in Los Angeles, where she chaired the art department, Corita assigned her pupils to practice “slow looking.” Her pupils were able to pick out, isolate, and study the intricacies of their surroundings by utilising a paper viewfinder tool that mimicked the feel of a camera. As a result, the children were left with mountains of drawings that helped them learn to slow down and get a new perspective on the world. One of the six vibrant brushstrokes that make up Corita's recognisable rainbow swash is featured in the design of these premium pencils, which are produced in America using extra-firm, smooth Japanese graphite. The authentic incense cedar is a round, hexagonal barrel with a white ferrule on top that encloses a square-ended rubber. The rubber can be changed. There are two of each colour design in the 12-piece pencil set. Made in America Japanese graphite
