Daniel Smith Watercolour Ground Buff Titanium 118ml
Daniel Smith Watercolour Ground Buff Titanium 118ml provides artists with a unique and versatile surface that mimics the texture and absorbency of traditional watercolour paper, but with a warm, off-white hue. This acrylic-based medium can be applied to a variety of surfaces, offering flexibility and creative freedom for your watercolour projects. The Buff Titanium ground creates a soft, natural-toned base that can enhance the mood and atmosphere of your artwork. It’s perfect for giving your paintings a subtle, antique appearance. This ground is also excellent for correcting mistakes on traditional watercolour paper, as it covers errors seamlessly, allowing you to rework and refine your pieces. Designed for use on both absorbent and non-absorbent surfaces, Daniel Smith Watercolour Ground Buff Titanium can be applied with a brush or foam pad. Surfaces such as paper, canvas, fabric, wood, plaster, shell, and hardboard require no preparation. However, for non-absorbent materials like glass, metal, and plastic, it’s best to abrade the surface with sandpaper or steel wool beforehand for optimal adhesion. With a thick, brushable consistency, the ground can be used straight from the tub. For a smooth finish, apply with a soft, synthetic brush; for a more textured effect, use a hog bristle brush. One coat is typically enough, but highly absorbent surfaces may need additional layers. Allow the ground to cure for 24 hours before painting. Once dry, it will not reactivate, ensuring a stable painting surface.
